Hi LightBicycle Team,
A query from an Australian potential customer:
I am hoping to build up some wheels myself and need some rims. The ideal specifications would be:
Clincher rim brake rims ideally tubeless compatible, U profile, UD Matt:
Front around 38mm 20hole with a width of 25mm
Rear around 50mm and 24hole with a width of 25mm
If you have such rims, what would their specification (ERD, weight, cost)?
Would it be cheaper to have a single wheel size for front and back?
Can I also ask if I can buy straight pull spokes from you as well (CX Ray would be best)? I am planning on using a DTSwiss 350 front hub and a PowerTap GS rear hub
Thanks for your help.
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your inquiry!
Are you looking for tubular rims? We have 25mm wide/35mm deep or 45mm deep or 55mm deep rims 700C. Please find attached rim profiles. Which do you prefer? Then i can quote accordingly for you.It is okay to buy one single rim, but the shipping cost is not much saved for just buying one single bike rim.Yes, it is okay to buy spokes together with rims. For sapim cx-ray bladed spoke, it is USD2.4 each, and USD0.4 each for nipple.
Thanks,
Lightbicycle

Hello Light-Bicycle,
I have a big curiosity about angled spoke hole. When I place an order, could I submit together which pattern I'd like to prefer??(like, front radial 18H, rear DS/NDS both 2cross 24H)
LightBicycle2018/01/29
Hi Ricky,
Regarding the spoke hole angle question
Our symmetric rims are with +/-6 degree angled spoke holes. As you can see from attachment.
Regarding the order question
1. If you have a specific requirement for lacing pattern or something else, You can leave messages to us when you check-out ( see attachment)
2. If the front rim and rear rim are with different specs, you need to order them separately.
3. Or you can save your trouble by sending your order details to us, and we'll quote accordingly (including shipping cost etc.) When you ready to order, we'll create an invoice to you.
Thanks,
Lightbicycle

Ok, three more questions here.
1) Is it available to adapt "Stealth" decal like this --> https://scontent-icn1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/25487320_1365786163544053_5111077425893329672_o.jpg?oh=24ff0442fccd3ab19036be9d1a80f874&oe=5AD9CCD4
2) Which decal option I should choose if I want to get the "stealth" look decal above? Black?
3) I just found some examples on the internet, they are all "UD" and "Matte" finish rims. Is "stealth" decal available at "12K" finish rims??
LightBicycle2018/02/01
Hi Ricky,
It is okay to adapt the graphic that you like. It is stealth decal for road bike rims now. You can leave a message on the order if you like and also the color you like. Then we can double check with you.

Hi,
what is the smallest tubular recommended for the U shape 25mm rim? Is 22mm ok?
LightBicycle2017/02/27
Hello Vincent,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The recommended tires width for our U shape 25mm rims are 23mm and 25mm. It will be great if you go with the 23mm tires. It is more comfortable.

The maximum spoke tension of our rim is 180kgf. Below are the spokes tension we recommended while building wheels.
Front: 110 ~ 120kgf (NDS), 80 ~ 90kgf (DS)
Rear: 80 ~ 90kgf (NDS), 110 ~ 120kgf (DS)

Hi,
I would like to buy these rims in a 24hole configuration, to use with disk brakes.
Do you offer smaller drilling for internal nipples?
Thanks, marcus
Light-Bicycle2016/11/03
Hello Marcus,
Thanks for your inquiry.
We can manufacture the U45mm rims in 24H and without brake tracks for disc brake. Both front and rear are 24H, right? Also, the rims can be drilled with internal nipples holes. Please find attached picture. Is that what you like?

My weight is 83kg clothes.
What spokes configuration should I choose for front/rear for everyday all round wheels?
Regards
Light-Bicycle2016/09/02
Hello Piotr,
Thanks for your inquiry.
According to your info, we’d like to recommend Sapim cx-ray spokes. It is our most durable bladed spoke. Its low weight, aerodynamics, and flexibility make it a popular choice for racing at all levels.
Thanks,
Light-bicycle

But I mean - what count of spokes for Front and Rear wheel?
Light-Bicycle2016/09/05
Hello Pior,
Normally, most of our customers choose 20H/24H. May I know your weight? Then we will double check if that works for you.

Is the basalt braking surface a thin layer on top of the carbon or does it go deeper into the rim? I have lots of scratches on the brake track of my rims, probably from the truing stand ( I built them up myself). I am wondering if I managed to scrape off the basalt or if the damage is only cosmetic.
Thanks
Light-Bicycle2015/09/09
Hello Nils,
Thanks for your contact.
The braking goes deeper into the rim slightly. Would you please email us some pictures of the braking surface’s problem? Then we will check for you.

Hi there
How much would delivery to Ireland cost for 1 rim? Also, what types of spoke and nipples are compatible with the rim? Can you recommend nipples/spokes for building the rim for cyclocross?
Thanks
Richie
Light-Bicycle2015/08/03
Hello Richie,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The shipping cost is USD58.4 for one rim to Ireland. You can save much shipping cost if ordered two rims, and the shipping cost for two rims is only USD68.1.
RRU45C02 (25mm wide U-shaped 45mm clincher rim): 460 /-15g, USD170/pcs
Please find attached rim profile. Do you need the braking surface on rim?
Rim in 3k matte & UD matte are more popular. Do you like it? Please find below link.
