I am looking for a custom 26 inch rim for my ebike project. I only need a wide rim for tire 26x2.2 with the following rim profile : Inner Width: 26mm Outer Width: 35mm Depth: 42mm or 45mm An aluminum rim would also work for me as weight is not important. Would that be possible ? Thanks

LightBicycle 2022/09/13

Hi Eric, 42-45mm depth is unusual for MTB bike rims. Are you sure this is what you want? It would be super stiff and uncomfortable to ride. Especially for heavy bikes on trails. Which is why majority of MTB rims are under 35mm deep. The RM26C03 might be a good fit for your requirements. We can make a reinforced version to make it stronger. As per e-bike's profile, we suggest adding 50-100g carbon fiber to key parts of the rims. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Will the NA warehouse have any RM26C03 or RM26C05 in stock soon. Really would like to purchase a set of rims, but I am turned off by the shipping cost.

LightBicycle 2022/04/09

Hi Sir, Sorry, we will not have RM26C03 and RM26C05 26er bike rims in the NA warehouse stock. You could order from the Global warehouse directly. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Morné 2018/06/15

Hi Do you recommend using nipples washers when lacing these rims? Thanks Morné

LightBicycle 2018/06/15

Hi Morne, We do not use nipple washers here for building wheels. The spoke holes’ wall strength is strong enough. But if you insist to use nipples, it is okay if you do not mind weight adding. Sapim nipple washers are okay if you like. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jose 2017/03/19

Hello, What is the difference between the 26CO5 and the RM2605 rims? I will use the rims for Enduro style riding...

LightBicycle 2017/03/20

Hi Jose, Both 26C05 and RM26C05 are the same. It refers to 38mm wide 26er rim. Do you like to compare the RM26C03 and RM26C05? If so, may I know if you ride aggressively? What the tire width you will use? What is your weight? Then we will do some recommendations. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Ray 2016/07/20

Hi, I've just ordered a 26er DH rim, what is the max and min pressure use with tubeless tire the rim? I found 2 max pressure on the product page (70 and 40 psi). Thanks.

Light-Bicycle 2016/07/20

Hello Ray, Thanks for your support. The max tire pressure for our RM26C05 rim is 70psi, and the recommend max tire pressure is 40psi. If the tire pressure is under 40psi, that is fine. But if you inflate over 70psi, the tire or the rim will be damaged. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Stefan 2016/04/19

Hello Team Light Bicycle, the Schwalbe Procore valve I want to use, doesn't fit through the rim hole. It has 8.2mm Diameter. Is it possible to drill the hole bigger without damaging the rim? mb

Light-Bicycle 2016/04/20

Hello Stefan, Thanks for your inquiry. It's OK to drill the nipple hole(Schrader) with 8mm or 8.5mm. Is it OK for you? May I know which rim you'd like? Then I can mail the cross-section drawing of the rim and more info. accordingly. Thanks, Lightbicycle

S

Stefan 2016/04/20

Thanks for the quick answer =) Yes, 8.5mm would be big eneough for the Procore Shrader. Its a RM26C05 (HD) rim, but I already recieved it. Is it possible that I drill it to 8.5mm without damaging the rim? mb

Light-Bicycle 2016/04/21

Hi Stefan, We usually drill the nipple hole with professional drilling machines. If you drill the nipple hole by yourself, I am afraid you will damage it. Could you please ask your local shop and check whether they provide drilling service? Thanks, Lightbicycle
