Angel : Over several years I have built several wheelsets using LB carbon fiber rims. R45, AR46, AR36 Disc, Custom AR46/AR56 to repurpose Roval hubs with 16/21 spokes. The results have been excellent, every single wheelset has been straight forward to build and perform just as good if not better than the famous brands (I've owned Zipp, Roval, Enve). The quality is excellent and customer service the same.

Jared : I have two sets of Light rims. One on my mountain bike, one on my road bike. Laced to White Industry's, I have a beautiful set of Custom R45 Hex-comb rims. They absolutely changed the appearance and ride of the bike overall! I opted for the grooved braking surface which makes a massive difference in braking power. overall excellent quality rim and super happy!! I also laced a set of of Recon Pro for my 29" FS mountain bike to Hadley Hubs, I am a big rider....6'3" 240Lb. and these have been taking a beating so far. Super happy again with the level of durability and performance. Add that Light has given me outstanding customer service, I have zero reason to buy any other wheel or rim. Thank you!!

Michael : Let me start by saying a huge thank you to Edwin and Nicole. Edwin and I went back and forth literally over 50 times, over email. Never once did I feel like I was frustrating them with all of my questions, although I'm sure it was getting annoying for them haha. I obviously wanted to make sure I was customizing the perfect wheel for my bike, and with their help I definitely did. R45 set with Carbon Ti hubs, Gloss Hex finish.... chef's kiss. I absolutely love them so far. They look and sound amazing. I ride pretty aggressive and so far these feel like the perfect setup to climb and descend fast with little crosswind effect. Thanks again LB fam!

Ivan : I ordered carbon rims from Lightbicycle back in September 2020 and so far, I am very happy with those. The rims are 45 front 55 rear. It felt like a nice combination.

Arnie 2022/10/17

I am interested in your carbon 45 rim brake wheel set. My bike is a 2016 Wilier GTR Team with Campagnolo Athena side pull brakes. Though the manufacturer says I can run up to 28mm tires, there is no mention of maximum rim width the bike can accept. Are there any measurements I could take that on the bike that could help me determine if I could fit a much wider rim than my current Campagnolo Zondas. Thank you

LightBicycle 2022/10/18

Hi Arnie, If the calipers are compatible with 28c tires, your bike is okay for 28mm wide wheelset. You can double check with our bike supplier. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Rad 2022/05/16

Hello, regarding your R45 Carbon Road Wheelset, I noticed all customer photos show the rims with EXTERNAL spoke nipples. I am thinking purchasing the R45 rims only and wondering is these rims are compatible/reinforced to accommodate INTERNAL spoke nipples. Thanks for any comments...

LightBicycle 2022/05/17

Hi Rad, Yes, the R45 700C 25mm wide 45mm deep 700C rim brake is compatible to internal spoke nipples. The R45 with High TG surface cost USD154/each, 3-year warranty. The R45 with Grooved Graphene surface cost USD184/each, 3-year warranty. Which surface would you prefer? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Tom 2022/02/13

Hello, I am really interested in the Falcon R45s, but I’m not sure how to tell if they will fit my bicycle. My 2014 Scott CR1 10 has narrow rear chainstays. I currently run older Boyd Altamont allow clincher rims with a 21mm inner width, which makes the widest tire I can run a 23c. (Which in practice inflates out to around a 25). What critical dims can I measure with a caliper to make sure the R45s will fit before ordering? I plan to run them tubeless with 23c tires. Thanks, Tom

LightBicycle 2022/02/14

Hi Tom, 1. The 2014 Scott CR1 10 normally comes with Shimano BR-R561 calipers, can you check if these are the calipers you have? If so, the official recommendation rim range is 19-26mm according to SHIMANO. The R45 700C should be ok to fit the calipers. 2. Please measure the narrowest spacing between the chainstays and seat stays to make sure they are wide enough for the rims 700C. The widest area of the R45 is 27.3mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jordan 2020/11/26

Hi there, I want to purchase a set of wheels for Black Friday. I built a set of wheels through the website but noticed that satin was not a finish that was available. I also wanted to do custom graphics -- just single decal where the valve is. Rim Model: R45 Size: 700C Series: Falcon Use: road/CX Type: Clincher non-disc Inner/outter width: 17.9mm/25mm depth: 45mm Hubs: carbon-ti x-hub Driver body: shimano road 11s Spoke: Sapim CX Ray Nipples: Sapim aluminum black Brake system: non-disc grooved graphene surface finish: Satin weave: UD Center Channel Hole: Without holes Decal: do you have a gold foil option? otherwise just stealth grey Brake Pads: add brake pads Thanks!

LightBicycle 2020/11/26

Hi Jordan, We have sent an email to you about this R45 rim brake order. Please check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Mike 2020/10/01

Hi! Is is possible to have just the valve stem logo decal and not the larger decals on the wheels? I am looking at purchasing either the AR 46 or R 45 wheelset. Also, is it possible to get either of these rim brake wheelsets with DT 240 hubs? Thank you and enjoy your day! :)

LightBicycle 2020/10/02

Hi Mike, Thanks for your inquiry!Yes, it is okay to have only valve logo on rims/wheels. When you place the order, you can leave a message on the order that "only valve logo please". Then we can see it and will double check with you after receiving your order, to make sure everything is correct. Also, we can take wheelset pictures for your check before shipping. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I was wondering why none of the wheels have the "North American Warehouse" option, can only see the "Global Options"

LightBicycle 2020/05/04

Hi Sir, We only have disc road rims stock in the America warehouse at the moment. Is there any reason that you prefer the h America warehouse? You can get all configurations from the Global warehouse as well. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Seth 2019/06/13

Hi, I'm looking for a new wheelset and I have a few questions about your return/warranty policy: - If I buy your product, and I am not satisfied with it, can I send the wheelset back and get a guaranteed refund? - If I crash my wheelset that I purchase from you, can I return it and get a discount on a replacement set of wheels? Thanks

LightBicycle 2019/06/17

Hi Seth, 1. Yes, just send back the product in good condition for a refund if the wheelset is new(without riding). 2. A crash replacement with very good discount works well there in common practice. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jonathan 2019/04/21

I usually run 25mm tyres. Will this pair of wheels be suitable or should I get the 28mm outer width wheels for better aero dynamics?

LightBicycle 2019/04/22

Hi Jonathan, I am Nancy from Lightbicycle. We talked online on weekends. I know your ride 25mm tires. From our research and test, the rim width has to be slightly wider than tire width. Then it has better aerodynamics. So, we recommend you to go for RR46C02(28mm wide/46mm deep) rims/wheels. Do you like 700C complete road wheelset or just rims only? We can quote accordingly for you. Thanks, Lightbicyle

Peter 2019/03/26

Am around 76kg, on carbon rim brake frame, basically riding relatively on flat road for speed. Sometimes, i do like to go for a climb but the gradient we have here is only 11% max and is just around 200m only. Am not sure does it justify for my below requirement or you have better suggestion. Which wheelset do you recommend? WRU45C02 or WR46C02 Can i go for spokes of 16 front, 20 rear? Possible to request without inner spoke holes?

LightBicycle 2019/03/26

Hi Peter, 1. Yes, we can make UST road wheels without spoke access holes on rim bed for you like the attachment. 2. Is it windy at where you ride? What about crosswinds? The WR45C02 provide better aerodynamics in no wind and lighter, the WR46C02 on the other hand with rounded "second" leading edge allows for more attached airflow, which reduces drags and increases balancing side force. You are a light rider and riding not aggressive, both wheelsets work well for you. 3. Do you have any specific hub(Front 16H, rear 20H) that you like to build the wheelset with? Power way R13 hub red okay for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jason 2019/03/20

Keen on these wheels, however I would like to confirm details for a disc brake build. https://www.lightbicycle.com/U-shape-45mm-depth-Hand-built-700C-carbon-25mm-wide-clincher-road-bicycle-wheels-for-tubeless-compatible.html Wanting straight pull hubs as well, aero spokes, clincher. 12mm through axle, 100mm front, 142mm I see also you say 0 offset (symetrical), I assume this is for a rim build, and a disc build will be Asymetrical, yes? Cost and delivery to Australia?

LightBicycle 2019/03/20

Hi Jason, Thanks for your inquiry! For RRU45C02 rims, the rim profile is designed as symmetrical. We do not have asymmetrical for road rims yet. For road rims, asymmetrical rim profile will affect the aerodynamics. So, normally most brands do not manufacture road rear rim with asymmetrial. Please find our quotation as below. It is USD681.40/pair. - Rims: RRU45C02, UD matte, 24H, disc - Hubs: black DT Swiss 350 road disc, front 12*100mm/rear 12*142mm, straight pull, centerlock, shimano road 11S, 18T - Spokes: black sapim cx-ray bladed straight pull - Nipples: black aluminum If it is with DT Swiss 240S road disc hubs, it is USD859.40/pair. The delivery cost is USD58 for one wheelset to Australia by EMS delivery. Thanks, Lightbicycle
