Comments on Falcon RIM R55

55mm deep carbon 700C 25mm wide road rim clincher U shape tubeless compatible high TG resin surface

Johan 2022/07/10

Hello. Do You have any rims with a slightly slimmer profile than the R-series? I have an older Scott road bike with just 29 mm clearance between the chainstays at the rim edge. I don’t know if 2 mm on each side is enough free space. I am looking for rims in the 50-60 mm height range. Thank You, Johan

LightBicycle 2022/07/11

Hi John, Are you looking for 23mm wide 700C wheelset rim brake? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Matus 2022/03/30

Hello, I am thinking about new rims for my track bike. Can I ask you, which rim is more durable between models Falcon AR56 and R65? And how long shipping usually takes to Slovakia,Europe? I am interested in 2 rims, UD matt finish, 32 holes. Thank you best regards, Matus

LightBicycle 2022/03/30

Dear Matus, R65 rims 700C are more durable. And AR56 is V shape and R65 is U shape. U-shape rounded "second" leading edge allows for more attached airflow, which reduces drags and increases balancing side force. If your riding area has side wind, it is better to choose a U shape. I recommend R65 rims 25mm wide/65mm deep road 700C to you and please check our quotation in your email. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I’m concerned the 25mm rim width will not clear my Shimano brake calipers.

LightBicycle 2019/07/05

Hi Doug, Sorry for the late reply. It was night time here when you emailed. I just checked on Shimano BR-R561. It is okay for 28mm wide tires. So, your brake calipers are wide enough for 25mm wide or 28mm wide 700C wheelsets. Thanks, Lightbicycle

What is the internal diameter of this rim(eyelet to eyelet)? I need this value for the Sapim spoke calculator. Thanks.

LightBicycle 2019/06/10

Hi Sir, The internal diameter of the rim is 523mm=633mm (OD) - 55mm*2(depth). You will also need the rim thickness for Sapim spoke length calculator, it's 3.5mm=[530mm(ERD)- 523mm(ID)]/2 Thanks, Lightbicycle

Andre 2019/05/08

Hello, what is the recommended nipple length for the 55mm deep carbon 700C 25mm wide rims? Thanks Andre

LightBicycle 2019/05/09

Hi Andre, Usually, we use 14mm length external nipples for RRU55C02 700C bike rims, 10mm for the internal nipples. BTW, we don't use washers while building, but you can use nipple washers if you don't might adding the weight. The spoke holes on our rims are drilled with a certain angle so the nipple can seat well on the inner side of the rim and align well with the hub flange angle. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi looking to buy rims only 55mm deep carbon clinchers can I do this and I want to put tubes in them 24/28 holes kind regards Tony

LightBicycle 2019/02/25

Hi Tony, It is okay to buy the 55mm depth 700C clincher rims in 24H/28H. Do you like UD matte and without brake tracks? It is tube compatible and also tubeless compatible. If you like to ride with tube, it is the same as normal rims and the same using. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Drew 2018/02/23

Hi There, would you be able to share rim profiles for this model RRU55C and RRU45C? Also, do you have plans to make an 88mm deep rim with the new brake track in the 25mm width at brake track?

LightBicycle 2018/02/23

Hi Drew, We sent the rim profiles through email. Have you got it? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Meta 2018/01/23

Hi. -Could you manufacture this in a 'heavy duty' (HD) version too? How much weight would this add? -Internal nipple holes: Would this still allow tubeless tires?

LightBicycle 2018/01/24

Dear Meta I am Charlie from LIGHT BICYCLE. Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, we can make RRU55C02 as heavy duty version by adding extra material. Pls note that the rim would add 50g more weight and USD8 each. You can use tubeless tires on internal nipple rims. Rims with internal nipple will turn out like attachment.FYI, internal nipple holes diameter is narrow than external, it's about 2.3~2.5mm. Lightbicycle

Jackie 2016/10/15

Hi, I'm interested to purchase this rim. However, I'm just wondering if it is compatible with inverted nipples? Thanks!

Light-Bicycle 2016/10/17

Hello Jackie, Thanks for your inquiry. For inverted nipples, do you mean the internal nipple holes? Please find attached picture for reference. If so, we are able to drill the rims with internal nipple holes. Thanks, Light-bicycle
