Comments on Recon WHEELSET RM26C05 All Mountain/Enduro

26er Hand-built Endro Downhill carbon fiber wheelset 38mm wide tubeless compatible

D

Damir 2022/08/19

Hi there! Currently, I'm running my 26 inch wheel set built with DT swiss FR560 rims (570 grams), dartmoor reel pro hubs and continental tires ( 670 grams each) My front wheel weights around 2000 grams with the rotor, rear wheel 2600 with the rotor and cassette. Considering it's a fresh new build, would it worth it to go with your 38 mm wide and 33 mm deep 26er rims?

LightBicycle 2022/08/20

Hi Sir, If you replace the FR560 rims with our RM26C05 26er rims, it would save you 300g in total. With a wider profile, you can run a wider range of tires in the future. And carbon rims certainly are more stiff than alloy rims. What hubs are used on your current wheels? They can be reused if they are in good condition. You need new spokes to build the wheels up. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Do you have any front hub options for 20 x 110?

LightBicycle 2022/04/20

Hi Sean, Thanks for your inquiry! Yes, we have 20*110mm I9 hubs here. Do you like 20*110mm old DH or 20*110mm boost DH? Which 26er wheelset do you like? You can list the complete wheelset specs here, we can quote accordingly for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

BRUNO 2020/06/10

Hi, I'm about to bring an old enduro bike back to it's glory so I'd like to buy the wheelset from you. I'm building it as a mullet bike 27,5 front/26 rear, however the hub axle size should be 15/110 boost and 135/5 qr. I'll be between 2.4 and 2.5 tyres with rimpact rim protection for some peace of mind and even though I never broke or bent a wheel in my life, I am a heavy rider, 120kg with gear, and I'll be riding double black diamond trails and bike park tracks. I think that a combination of the rm26c05 and rm650bc13 rims with the heavy duty option would be the best fit for me. As for the hubs I do love the Dt Swiss 240s straightpull same as my carbon wheelset of my Xc bike, however I'll be open to hear your opinion. Are the 28 dt Swiss competition spokes on alloy nipples strong enough?

LightBicycle 2020/06/11

Hi Sir, 1. The new EXP version 135*5qr conversion kit would have to wait till July (at least). 2. I would suggest going with DT 350 hubs if you prefer the ratchet system over pawls. The straight pull version only available in 28H. 3. If you don't mind the pawl system, the Industry Nine hubs would be also a good choice. But you should know that they are very loud hubs. Some people love it, some people don't. So just a heads-up to you. 4. We can make a reinforced version (heavier than the heavy-duty) for you if you are concerned about the durability. We will charge USD8-10 extra per rim for the customization. Let me know if it's ok with you. 5. The Sapim CX-Ray spokes are the most popular spokes we sell. But given the fact that you are a big guy and riding enduro, I would say DT competition race round spokes or sapim D-light round or sapim race spokes would be safer. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I am interested in your 26C05 wheel set , I will provide a set of SRAM XO hubs with 32 holes. I am a 200 pound rider and the wheels will be on a,long travel trail bike. Would you recommend the heavy rims? All the other specifics to the 26C05 set would remain the same , not including shipping could you quote a price for the build Thanks Kenneth

Light-Bicycle 2016/05/05

Hello Kenneth, Thanks for your inquiry. Pillar psr x-tra 1420 aero spokes are not strong enough. We recommend DT competition race round spokes or black sapim cx-ray bladed spokes. The price for wheelset with following specs is USD473 - Rims: RM26C05-38mm, AM version, 12K, matte, 32H, no decal - Hubs: the buyer will provide it - Spokes: black DT competition race round spokes - Nipples: black, brass or aluminum If it is with sapim cx-ray bladed spokes, the price will be USD537/pair, the wheelset weight will be 20g lighter. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Sage 2015/12/29

Could you for the sake of inquiry make one with green Industry 9 spokes?

Light-Bicycle 2015/12/30

Hi Sage, We have received your two inquires. Due to time difference, sorry for the late reply. Currently, only Novatec/ Hope/ DT Swiss hubs are available, not Industry 9 hubs. Sorry about that. Hope & DT Swiss are with good quality also, and idea for long-term use. If you like, we can build it as following specs. -Rims: RM26C05, 38mm width, HD version for your aggressive riding, 485 /-15g. Please find attached rim profile. Rim weave in UD matte is more popular. -Hubs: What hub axle size do you like for front & rear? Standard qr or thru axle? - Spokes: Pillar x-tra 1420 aero (4.3g for 260mm) or DT competition spoke (5.8g for 260mm). DT competition spokes are much heavier, but stronger. -Nipples: Alloy or brass? Black or silver? Thanks, Light-bicycle

Aaron 2015/12/27

Hi, I would like to see pictures of the difference between UD matte and UD gloss rims and 3k matte and 3k gloss please. 1: Also I want to know if you sell 38mm wide by 26" in a hookless design the same as 27.5..? I wanted to re-use my original hubs if possible from my bike (specialized enduro- with DTswiss hubs) but the front hub is a 27 spoke hub which i know is different from the normal 28 or 32 2: so I need to know if you can make a rim for me with 27 spoke holes instead of 28..? I need a quote for the cost of two options. Option A. -26"rims only 38mm dh 32 hole rear and 27 hole front Option B. -26" 38mm dh 32 hole rear 28 hole front with dt swiss 240 hubs straight pull black spokes super competion Thankyou for your time Aaron

Light-Bicycle 2015/12/28

Hello Aaron, Thanks for your inquiry. Please find attached pictures of the rim weave & finish. 3k/12k/UD are the 3 choices for cosmetic appearance. The rim strength & weight is virtually identical. UD Matte is the most popular. -Yes, the 38mm wide 26er rim is available. Rim profile attached for reference. You can use your original hubs to build the wheels. - For spoke count, we can manufacture from 16H to 36H. So, rim in 27H is fine. All the prices are the same if the rims with different spoke counts. For special count, you can not change or cancel the order, hope that is okay for you. - RM26C05 (38mm wide 26er HD rim) hookless: 485 /-15g, USD181/pcs -The 38mm wide 26er HD wheelset with DT 240S hubs & DT competition spokes is USD970/pair. Thanks, Light-bicycle
